Casino Night Fundraiser:
One of Rotaracts main annual fundraisers is our Casino Night. This is an evening designed to raise funds for our local and international projects. Last year we had a St. Patrick’s Day/Viva Las Vegas theme and this year we are having a Dirty Thirty’s/Fedora’s and Flappers theme. This fundraiser is being held on April 19th at Soccer Quest and the evening will include appetizers, hosted bar, as well as a professional DJ. Of course, every guest is supplied with gambling money to participate in the festivities of the evening and win some great prizes!!
Moonlight Masquerade:
In September 2007, Rotaract hosted our first annual Moonlight Masquerade. The Masquerade was a beautiful evening full of mystery and masks. The event was held in the picnic area of Riverside park with a setting of sparkling white lights woven through canvassing trees. All guests who attended the event wore masks and some guest went all out and wore full costumes as well. The entertainment featured at the event was a bachelor/bacheloette auction. The bachelors and bachelorettes auctioned off put together date packages involving activities such as White Water Rafting, Helicopter rides, a day at Sun Peaks and Horseback Riding. All of the bachelor and bachelorette packages were sold as either a date with the bachelor/bachelorette, or a date package for couples to purchase. All cash from this fundraiser went to Rotaracts community projects pertaining to youth, environment, and education.
RYLA:
For two years in a row, various members from our Rotaract club have attended RYLA, Rotary Youth Leadership Awards. RYLA is Rotary's leadership training program for young people. RYLA emphasizes leadership, citizenship, and personal growth. This camp aims to demonstrate Rotary's respect and concern for youth, provide an effective training experience for selected youth and potential leaders, encourage leadership of youth by youth, and recognize publicly young people who are rendering service to their communities
Trick-or-Eat:
A fun way to help those in need! This event is held yearly on Halloween night. Members of Kamloops Fusion Rotaract participate and challenge other various university and community clubs to join in and help our community! Participants hit the streets of Kamloops for the a Trick-or-Eat food drive. All of the collected food items are donated to the Kamloops Food Bank, and the TRU Student Foodbank. More than 7 thousand food items were collected over the past two years!
