Annual Events:
The following are events that we have held, and plan to hold again in the future.
Casino Night Fundraiser
Rotaracts main annual fundraiser is our Casino Night. This is an evening designed to raise funds for our local and international projects. Last year we had a St. Patrick’s Day/Viva Las Vegas theme and this year we are having a Dirty Thirty’s/Fedora’s and Flappers theme. This fundraiser is being held on April 19th at Soccer Quest and the evening will include appetizers, hosted bar, as well as a professional DJ. Of course, every guest is supplied with gambling money to participate in the festivities of the evening and win some great prizes!!
RYLA
For three years in a row, various members from our Rotaract club have attended RYLA, Rotary Youth Leadership Awards. RYLA is Rotary's leadership training program for young people. RYLA emphasizes leadership, citizenship, and personal growth. This camp aims to demonstrate Rotary's respect and concern for youth, provide an effective training experience for selected youth and potential leaders, encourage leadership of youth by youth, and recognize publicly young people who are rendering service to their communities
Trick-or-Eat
A fun way to help those in need! This event is held yearly on Halloween night. Members of Kamloops Fusion Rotaract participate and challenge other various university and community clubs to join in and help our community! Participants hit the streets of Kamloops for the a Trick-or-Eat food drive. All of the collected food items are donated to the Kamloops Food Bank, and the TRU Student Foodbank. More than 7 thousand food items were collected over the past two years!
